Michaela Porten-Biwer studied law at the University of Trier, specialising in family and inheritance law.

 

After the successful completion of her studies, she worked at the European Parliament in France (Strasbourg) and in Belgium (Brussels) for several months

 

She was awarded her licence to practise law in 2007, since when she has worked at the law firm König Rechtsanwälte. Her licence entitles her to represent her clients before all district, county and higher regional courts in Germany.

 

She specialises in family and inheritance law, including all thematically relevant ancillary fields.

Michaela Porten-Biwer was appointed lawyer specialized in family law in 2010 and in 2011, she also was appointed as a lawyer specialized in inheritance law. In 2013 she successfully completed a course of study to become a Certified Executor of Wills (AGT e.V.).

In matters relating to inheritance law, her main tasks are the drawing up of wills, the drawing up of rules for anticipated succession/inter vivos transfers, the drawing up of health care proxies and patient's provisions, representation and consultation in case of disputes within the community of heirs, the assertion of and defence against legitimate portion claims/bequest claims, and the executions of wills.

 

With regard to family law, Michaela Porten-Biwer supports her clients in the drawing up of marriage contracts as well as separations and divorces and the associated points of law.

 

Michaela Porten-Biwer is a member of the Netzwerk Deutscher Erbrechtsexperten (Network of German Experts in Inheritance Law).

Besides, she is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Familien- und Erbrecht im Deutschen Anwaltverein e.V. (Family and Inheritance Law Working Group in the German Association of Solicitors reg. Assoc.) and a member of the executive board of the Anwaltsverein Trier (Trier Solicitors Association).
